Jebel Ali is situated 35 kms southwest of the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The area has a thriving expatriate community and is home to a number of residential projects including Discovery Gardens and Jebal Ali Village. The Port of Jebel Ali is situated in Jebel Ali along with Jebal Ali Free Zone and the Al Maktoum International Airport which opened on 27 June 2010. Named after the late Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the former ruler of Dubai, Jebal Ali Airport is a major element of Dubai World Central, a planned residential, commercial and logistics platform.
