The islands are located 4 km away from Dubai coast and are developed by
Nakheel, a premium
real estate developer in Dubai who also developed
Palm Jumeirah and
Discovery Gardens.
The islands are surrounded by an oval-shaped breakwater and they are adding over 232 km of beachfront to the city of Dubai.
The World Islands are planned to include high-end hotels and resorts in addition to residential units that are offered to the real estate market in Dubai.
